Glass fiber filter cartridges
Glass fiber filter cartridges have a hydrophilic filtration media, which facilitates the passage of aqueous dispersions and solutions through the filter media, unlike for example polypropylene nonwoven materials which are distinctly hydrophobic.
Furthermore, they demonstrate very high efficiency in submicron filtration of dispersions, for example with photoresists, UV coatings, polymer solutions, inks or polishing slurry suspensions. They effectively retain both deformable particles (gels) and non-deformable particles.
Pleated glass fiber filter cartridges are frequently used in pharmaceutical and biotechnological processes to protect membrane filters, chromatographic and ultrafiltration systems. The rigid glass fiber filtration media matrix enables effective retention of colloidal particles.
Resin-bonded micro-glass fibers – which are pleated to increase the filtration surface – enable fine filtration with low pressure drop and long filter life. Even with very fine retention and highly viscous liquids, this resin-bonded structure prevents migration of the filtration media.
Application areas
- Pre-filtration for sterile membrane filtration
- Pre-filter for chromatography
- UV coatings
- Inks
- Polishing slurry suspensions
Depth glass fiber filters
Depth filters use a hydrophilic glass microfiber media with gradual porosity that enables effective fine particle capture throughout the entire filter depth.
SAINT GOBAIN NCG
Pleated depth filter with gradual porosity made from borosilicate micro-glass fibers for submicron filtration and high flow rates.
Pleated glass fiber filters
Pleated filters maximize the filtration surface thanks to the pleated filter media design, resulting in longer service life and lower pressure drop.
CSM PGP
Pleated filter with large filtration surface made from borosilicate micro-glass fibers for precise filtration in demanding industrial applications.
SAINT GOBAIN NCG
Pleated NCG filter cartridges by Saint-Gobain are characterized by high particle retention capacity. Thanks to the pleated structure of the filtration media, they offer a very large filtration surface.
The micro-glass filtration media integrated into a polypropylene filter cartridge ensures excellent chemical compatibility and can be easily sterilized when required.
NCG filter cartridges are particularly suitable for reducing microorganisms or micro-gels and provide very good flow and pressure drop characteristics.
They are recommended for demanding applications where good flow and high retention efficiency of deformable and non-deformable particles are required.
Saint-Gobain guarantees production in an ISO 13485 certified facility, ensuring a high level of product safety and quality control.

CSM PGP
PGP filter cartridges feature an integrated, coarser pre-filtration layer made from polypropylene nonwoven material, making them a particularly effective filtration solution. This pre-filtration layer improves overall filtration efficiency, especially for liquids with a wide particle size distribution.
PGP filter cartridges are used in submicron filtration of dispersions, for example with UV coatings, polymer or monomer solutions, inks, pigment dispersions and other nano- or micro-slurry systems.
These cartridges represent an optimal choice for demanding industrial applications where effective retention of deformable particles (gels) and non-deformable particles (agglomerates) is important.
