Solvents

Due to the microfiber structure of the filter media in filter cartridges (with fiber diameters of just a few microns), the contact surface with the solvent is extremely large. Therefore, the potential impact of the solvent on the filter is significantly greater, making chemical resistance tables for compact materials often unreliable.

Temperature and contact time also significantly affect the action of solvents on the filter. TIARTEC has solutions for such requirements.

We filter solvents down to 0.5 µm using filter cartridges made from a single material, i.e. 100% polypropylene, polyester or polyamide.

If plastic is not sufficiently resistant, stainless steel filters can be used as a last resort, often manufactured as custom filter cartridges or filtration systems.

We are happy to provide customers with samples so they can verify chemical resistance in their own processes.
